More than 600 people attended the 21st Annual Taste of Citrus scholarship fundraiser at the College of Central Florida Citrus Campus. Guests were treated to live entertainment, a silent auction and culinary treats from 20 area restaurants and caterers. The Taste of Citrus endowment has grown to more than $1 million and has generated more than 500 scholarships for area students to attend the College of Central Florida.

Several participants were recognized for their culinary contributions, including Cedar Creek at Kings Bay for best overall presentation.

In the appetizers category, McLeod House Bistro received first-place honors and Crystal River Ale House received second. In the entrees category, Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center received first place, Elegant Catering received second and Oysters Restaurant received third. In the desserts category, first place was awarded to Cedar Creek at Kings Bay, second place to Citrus Memorial Hospital Catering and third place to Chocolate Fountains by AnnaMaria.

The 2010 Taste of Citrus Committee would like to thank all the restaurants, sponsors, silent auction donors and attendees for making this Taste of Citrus one of the best yet.
