College of Central Florida music students will perform on Friday and Saturday in the Fine Arts Auditorium at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road.
On Friday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m., the CF Concert Band will perform works by Holst, Reed and Rimsky-Korsakov. The Brass Ensemble will perform works by Copeland, Bach and Curnow.
On Saturday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m., the CF Patriot Singers will present "Then and Now," featuring the Mass in G by Franz Schubert as well as contemporary choral works.
"The challenge to choosing music for a choral program is in narrowing the possibilities," said Lesley Mann, CF assistant professor. "The vast amounts of literature available can be overwhelming, but this program has been extremely enjoyable to prepare. We have explored different colors and textures in the choral sound, played with articulation and dynamics, and had some fun with a tambourine."
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for CF staff, faculty and students. For information, call the CF Box Office at 352-873-5810.
