The Newton A. Perry Aquatic Center will offer the American Red Cross lifeguard course on April 17-26 at the Ocala Campus of the College of Central Florida, 3001 S.W. College Road. The course will meet Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Students will learn surveillance skills, rescue skills, first aid training, professional rescuer CPR and lifeguard responsibilities. Lifeguard training is valid for three years. The course includes lifeguard, CPR and first aid certifications. Individuals must be 15 years or older. The fee is $175 and includes books. The class is limited to the first 12 registered.
