The Visual Artists’ Society brings “Best of the Season: Joyful Memories” to the Webber Center Gallery at the College of Central Florida beginning in November.

An opening reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Webber Center at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. Dr. Sarah Satterfield, CF professor of Music, will play solo flute. The event and reception are free and open to the public.

This exhibit will display the talent and imagination of many local artists belonging to the Visual Artists’ Society.
“As an artist I am motivated by materials, color, and texture, subject matter and, of course, a touch of humor,” said member David D’Alessandris. “Art should not necessarily be a canvas or a piece of paper under glass.”

The exhibit will be judged by Professor Donald Martin, who received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts and his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University. He also completed post-graduate studies at The Rhode Island School of Design. His work is featured in public and private collections and exhibitions across the country as well as in national and international publications. He has taught at Flagler College since 1980.

The exhibit will continue through Saturday, Dec. 8. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is closed Sundays, Mondays and college-observed holidays. For more information call the Webber Center Gallery at 352-873-5809.
