CF to Host Civic Dialogues on Election

The College of Central Florida will host “Civic Dialogues and the 2012 Election in the United States” at the Citrus and Ocala campuses to increase civic engagement and to encourage students to vote.

On Monday, Oct. 22, the dialogue will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Citrus Learning and Conference Center at the Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto. The panel will feature Instructor Dewith Mayne of CF, Professor Steven Tauber of the University of South Florida, and Senior Professor Connie Tice of CF. Associate Professor John Anene of CF will be the moderator.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the dialogue will be held from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in the Ewers Century Center at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. The panel will include Dr. MaryEtta Fisher of the League of Women Voters, Professor Chuck Hiatt of CF, Professor Daniel Smith of the University of Florida, and Assistant Professor Jay Thompson of CF. Anene will be the moderator.

The dialogues are co-sponsored by the CF Model United Nations club and the Campus Democracy Project of Florida Campus Compact. There is no fee to attend either event.
