CF to Host Author Eric Miles Williamson

The College of Central Florida will host a reading by acclaimed author Eric Miles Williamson on Thursday, Nov. 8. The reading begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in Building 8, Room 110, at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. Admission is free and a book signing will follow.

Williamson is the author of three novels, a short story collection and two books of criticism. His latest work is “Say It Hot: Essays on American Writers Living, Dying, and Dead.” Widely published in Europe and America, Williamson is currently professor of English at the University of Texas–Pan American.

His stories, essays and reviews have appeared in scores of literary publications and have earned him several awards, including the Prix du Meilleur Polar, the Prix du Roman Lire, and Le Prix de Littérature Policiére, a PEN/Hemingway Award Finalist, a PEN/Oakland Josephine Miles Literary Award, and a National Endowment for the Arts Literary Fellowship. He was named by the French Literary magazine Transfuge “one of the dozen great writers of the world.”

In addition to his literary output, he is senior editor of the literary journal Boulevard, fiction editor of Texas Review, associate editor of American Book Review, and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Book Critics Circle.
