Ferrari of Central Florida will have a Ferrari California and a Maserati GranTurismo at the Central Florida Community College Ocala Campus on Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The vehicles will be on display outside the Bryant Student Union to garner support from faculty and staff for the 2010 CFCC Foundation’s Annual Fund campaign.
The Annual Fund is kicked off each year by faculty and staff before it is publicly launched in the community. This year, the employee campaign has taken on a race car theme and is named the Patriots 400 Race to Make a Difference.
"The faculty and staff campaign of the Annual Fund is our CFCC family’s once-a-year opportunity to show students, the community and one another how much our work at this college matters," said Joan Stearns, vice president of Institutional Advancement. "We think it is important to invest in our college internally before officially inviting the community to support the Annual Fund."
The Patriots 400 goal is to raise 400 employee donors and $20,000 in five weeks. The campaign will conclude at a Victory Lane Celebration in February. Annual Fund support can be left undesignated to meet the college’s greatest educational needs or designated to support scholarships, faculty grants and program development through the Promise for the Future Fund.
Community sponsors Deluca Toyota and Ford of Ocala respectively loaned a Prius and Cobra Shelby last week for a Patriots 400 campus car show. CFCC employee Mary Cipolla and her husband, John, loaned their Corvette for the campus event to help recruit campaign donors.
The CFCC Foundation’s Faculty and Staff Annual Fund received local and national attention in 2009. During a challenging economic time, CFCC employees pulled together and achieved a 63 percent increase in participation in their employee campaign.
