Students from Central Florida Community College will present the classic comedy "Tartuffe" at the Citrus Campus on Thursday and Friday, April 22 and 23. The performances are free and begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Citrus Learning and Conference Center, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto.

This is the first theatrical performance to be held in the Citrus Learning and Conference Center, which opened its doors to expanded opportunities in fall 2009. The performers are students in the Play Production class of instructor Byron Nichols.

"It is an honor to be the first to present a play in the new Citrus Learning and Conference Center," said Nichols. "It is not often that a director has the opportunity to open a new house."

The five-act play by Jean Baptiste Molière features Orgon, who has decided to give all his worldly possessions to a pious holy man, Tartuffe. However, this holy man is not all that he seems to be, and Orgon’s frantic family and friends are not fooled by Tartuffe’s behavior. They try to convince Orgon to abandon his folly.
