CF International Film Series Presents 'The Reader'

The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “The Reader,” a drama based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Bernhard Schlink.

The film will be shown on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., and at 7 p.m. at the CF Ocala Campus in Building 8, Room 110, 3001 S.W. College Road.

At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.

Released in 2008, “The Reader” is set after World War II in Germany and tells the story of a law student who meets his former love interest on trial defending her actions as a guard at a Nazi concentration camp. The film stars Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes and Bruno Ganz. This film is rated R for some scenes of sexuality and nudity.
