CF, Ocala Aquatics Ribbon Cutting for Aquatic Center

The College of Central Florida and Ocala Aquatics will hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate the re-opening of the Newton A. Perry Aquatic Center at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road.

The ribbon cutting will be held at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. Cory Pool, chair of the CF District Board of Trustees, is the speaker, and invited dignitaries include Jaye Baillie, president of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Jim Harvey, CF president; Aquatic Director Bill Vargo; and Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.

For three days the pool will be open to the public at no charge, and visitors will receive a hot dog and a drink. Community visit days are Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, from noon to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The center was renovated after a fire in November destroyed offices and locker rooms.
